Gorman-Rupp self-priming centrifugal pumps are easy to install and easy to service. Because they are self-priming, they can be installed above the liquid level, dry on the floor, with only the suction line submerged in the liquid – eliminating the need for service personnel to go into the sump to service the pumps. Service or maintenance of the pumps can be easily performed using standard hand tools. No complicated equipment is required to lift the pumps.
Adjusting the gap between the impeller and the wear ring
The suction chamber cover, which is connected to the wear ring and reaches all the way to the impeller, is unscrewed and removed from the outside. It is easily removed by unscrewing 4 screws. By removing this cover, we can easily access the impeller, inspect it and, if necessary, remove accumulated debris. By putting the cover back in place, the gap between the impeller and the wear ring is adjusted. This is easy to do - the cover tightening screws have counter screws threaded into them, which are used to adjust the required clearance, and the main screws are used to tighten it to the housing. Everything does not take long, and by properly adjusting this gap, the pump's high efficiency is maintained.
Particulate matter handling
The two-vane, semi-open impeller passes solids up to 76 mm in diameter (depending on the pump model). This significantly reduces the risk of clogging.
Exclusive Gorman-Rupp cartridge seal
Exclusive double floating, self-aligning, oil-lubricated mechanical cartridge seal with silicon carbide or tungsten titanium carbide, designed for abrasive media and/or waste handling applications. These seals are available for 3", 4" and 6" (75 mm, 100 mm and 150 mm) pump models.
Removable cover plate with Easy-Grip handle
The removable cover plate with Easy-Grip handle and push screw allows quick and easy access to the inside of the pump without disconnecting the pipes. If clogged, the pump can be cleaned and restarted in minutes. The impeller, seal, wear plate and suction valve can also be accessed through the cover opening for inspection or maintenance.
Removable rotating equipment
Inspection or replacement of the pump shaft or bearings is easily done without disconnecting the pump housing or pipes. Simply remove the four screws from the back of the pump. This allows for quick and easy replacement of bearings or seals, reducing downtime.
Double bearing protection
An atmospheric barrier and two seals protect the pump bearings. This allows quick and easy observation of the bearing cavity from the outside.
Replaceable wear plate
Super T series pumps have replaceable wear plates that are mounted on the cover plate and can be easily removed for inspection or maintenance. There is no need to replace expensive casing parts.
